What hope is there for my problems and questions?

In today's incredibly complex world filled with suffering and sin, God's practical counsel is desperately needed. There is tremendous hope in the fact that God has provided His Word, the Bible, to give answers for life's problems and questions. God says that He has provided everything necessary for a person to know Him and live in a way that pleases Him. God promises to help and bless those who obey His instructions in the Bible. Therefore, the one who seeks after and follows God's answers for life can have great hope, contentment, and direction to handle all of the pressures of life.

Canyon Hills Counseling Ministry offers counseling for adults, married or single, who are caught in suffering and/or sin.  We regularly counsel adults 18 and older, and will take under consideration counseling for children and teens ages 9 through 17 (parents/guardians must be able and willing to be involved in the process).  While we do not require that everyone be a member of Canyon Hills, we do require that everyone receiving counseling at Canyon Hills attend church regularly at Canyon Hills, and consider this their church home. [Please note: Our HOPE Groups are open to those who do not attend Canyon Hills.]

how do we counsel

Counseling is made available to help with any issues that you might be facing - marriage, parenting, relationship issues, addictions, mental disorders of all kinds, issues of the past (including childhood sexual assault), fear, anger, grief, depression, anxiety, etc.

Our counseling approach is based upon the truths of the Bible. Since God has fully provided His answers to life and all of life's problems through the Bible, we believe that it [the Bible] is superior to any other source of counsel. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God's answers to shine upon the difficulties you are facing.

who counsels

The counselor you will receive will be trained according to the standards found at the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).  While not all of our counselors are certified with ACBC, all of our counselors are supervised by those with an ACBC certification.  Our counselors are NOT certified with the State of Washington.

Due to our constant and extensive waitlist, we cannot accommodate requests for particular counselors.  We trust all our counselors to faithfully counsel from God's Word and we trust God's sovereignty to place you with the counselor who is right for you.

Our counseling is FREE!  It is always a privilege to sit down with those who are suffering and share the hope that is found in God's Word.  As such, we never want money to be an obstacle.  There is a one-time non-refundable $25 administration fee that covers your binder, initial resource, and administrative processing. If you lose or damage your binder, you will incur a $15 replacement fee. If you need to cancel your appointment, we require notice within 24 hours of your scheduled time to the main counseling office or you will incur a cancellation fee. You will need to submit $25 before continuing your counseling sessions. Additionally, there may be a cost for materials used in counseling.
